CALL FOR PAPERS Third International Doctoral Workshop of the Kant-Society: 11 October – 13 October 2018, University of Graz (Austria) The Third International Doctoral Workshop of the Kant-Society will be held at the University of Graz (Austria) from 11 to 13 October 2018. The aim of the workshop is to discuss workin-progress from doctoral students who are working on a thesis on Kant’s philosophy, and to foster interactions among doctoral students as well as between doctoral students and established Kant scholars. The programme includes an opening lecture by Prof. Udo Thiel (Graz) and three keynote talks by Prof. Dietmar Heidemann (Luxembourg), Prof. Camilla Serck-Hanssen (Oslo) and Prof. Günter Zöller (Munich). Abstracts (max 700 words) and a summary of the thesis project in a separate file (max. 300 words) should be sent via e-mail to one of the addresses below by 1 February 2018. Invitations to those contributors whose submissions have been selected will be sent out at the end of March/April 2018. Workshop languages are German and English. 10 Submissions will be selected by a committee nominated by the Department of Philosophy at the University of Graz and the international Kant Society. At the workshop, each paper will be given 30 minutes plus 30 minutes for discussion. For those students whose contributions are selected the organizers will pay for their accommodation in Graz and, as a far as possible, for their travel expenses. In addition, participation in the workshop is open to everyone who is interested. The thematic focus of the workshop is Immanuel Kant: The Synthetic A priori; however topics not directly related to this theme are also welcome. Papers relating to any issue in Kant’s philosophy from theoretical, moral, aesthetic, political themes etc. will be considered. In addition, contributions may be from a variety of perspectives: historical, textual, analytical and systematic.
CALL FOR PAPERS 3. Internationaler Doktoranden-Workshop der Kant-Gesellschaft: 11.10.- 13.10.2018 an der Karl-Franzens-Universität Graz (Österreich). Vom 11. bis 13. Oktober 2018 findet an der Karl-Franzens-Universität Graz der 3. Internationale Doktoranden-Workshop der Kant-Gesellschaft statt. Ziel des Workshops ist es, in Arbeit befindliche Dissertationen über die Philosophie Immanuel Kants zu diskutieren und den wissenschaftlichen Austausch zwischen Doktorandinnen und Doktoranden und bereits etablierten Kant-Forscherinnen und Kant-Forschern anzuregen und zu fördern. Zum Programm gehören ein Eröffnungsvortrag von Prof. Dr. Udo Thiel (Graz) und drei Hauptvorträge von Prof. Dr. Dietmar Heidemann (Luxembourg), Prof. Dr. Camilla Serck-Hanssen (Oslo) und Prof. Dr. Günter Zöller (München). Abstracts (max. 700 Wörter) und Informationen in einer separaten Datei über das jeweilige Dissertationsprojekt (max. 300 Wörter) können bis zum 1. Februar 2018 per E-Mail über die unten angegebenen Kontaktadressen eingereicht werden. Die Einladungen zum Workshop erfolgen Ende März/Anfang April. Die Sprachen des Workshops sind Deutsch und Englisch. Die Auswahl der Vorträge (welche eine Länge von 30 Minuten plus 30 Minuten Diskussion haben werden) erfolgt durch eine vom Institut für Philosophie der Universität Graz und von der internationalen Kant-Gesellschaft ernannte Kommission. Die Konferenz zahlt die Unterbringung in Graz und – so weit möglich – auch die Reisekosten. Zehn Doktoranden werden eingeladen. Die Teilnahme an dem Workshop steht darüber hinaus allen Interessierten offen. Der thematische Schwerpunkt des Workshops lautet: IMMANUEL KANT: DAS SYNTHETISCHE APRIORI. Es sind aber ebenso Beiträge zu Themen willkommen, die sich nicht direkt auf diesen Schwerpunkt beziehen. Themen aus den unterschiedlichen Bereichen der theoretischen, moralischen, ästhetischen, politischen Philosophie Kants können vorgeschlagen werden. Auch sind unterschiedliche Herangehensweisen willkommen, sie können historischer, text-analytischer und systematischer Art sein.
